We’re looking for a product owner who wants to define a new category
Spot AI is hiring a Product Manager for AI Ops Assistant, a new product area that turns video into AI-powered operating assistants for the physical world.
These are not clean, well-defined problems. You will work with customers who have messy workflows, real operational stakes, and no patience for technology that does not deliver.
You are responsible for discovering the highest-value problems, building the platform that solves them repeatedly, and creating the motion that turns one-off POCs into scalable products.
The PMs who win here are not roadmap managers. They walk plant floors, earn trust with engineers and operators, and turn ambiguous customer problems into products that ship.
You do not need to be an ML researcher. But you should be technically fluent enough to reason about AI systems, video data, model quality, evaluation, false positives, deployment constraints, and platform architecture.
Your assignment
Discover the right problems
Spend significant time with customers, prospects, sales, solutions, and field teams to understand workflows, pain points, budgets, and success criteria.
Identify the highest-value use cases — not just what customers ask for, but what is actually worth building.
Build the platform, not just the features
Turn bespoke one-off customer work into repeatable product capabilities that scale.
Identify the reusable primitives: agent templates, workflow configuration, reporting, evaluation tools, alerting, data models, and deployment playbooks.
Drive the product motion
Define a near-term roadmap that balances customer urgency, technical feasibility, repeatability, and revenue impact.
Create a clear path from customer discovery → paid POC → production rollout → scalable product motion.
Create a strong GTM motion
Partner with sales, marketing, customer success, and solutions to define positioning, packaging, demo flows, pricing inputs, and proof points.
Build the playbooks that make AI Ops Assistant easy to sell, not just easy to use.
Who you are
You may be a product manager, founder, technical product lead, forward-deployed engineer, solutions architect, or field CTO. The title matters less than the operating style.
You may be a strong fit if you:
Have built or led 0-to-1 B2B products in complex technical environments.
Are highly customer-centric and comfortable spending real time in the field with users, operators, and executives.
Are technically strong enough to reason about AI systems, video data, model limitations, false positives, platform architecture, and deployment constraints.
Have strong product judgment and can distinguish between a one-off customer request and a repeatable platform opportunity.
Communicate clearly and can turn ambiguous customer problems into crisp product requirements, launch plans, and business cases.
Bonus points for experience in computer vision, video AI, industrial AI, manufacturing, logistics, construction, retail operations, forward-deployed engineering, or founding / building a product from zero.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA and requires working from our office at 17 Bluxome St.
This role could click if you:
Want to define a new category of AI product, not manage one that already exists.
Are energized by ambiguity and find the pattern underneath bespoke customer requests.
Love being onsite with customers as much as you love being in a product review.
Want direct impact on revenue, product direction, and the long-term architecture of Spot AI’s agent platform.
This role likely won’t click if you:
Prefer well-defined roadmaps over discovering what the roadmap should be.
Are more comfortable in a multi-layer PM org than operating like a founder.
Struggle to engage technically with engineers on AI systems, model tradeoffs, or platform architecture.
Are not willing or able to work in-person from San Francisco.
